The Wilder Homestead in Burke, NY, near Malone, was the location for Farmer Boy.  Laura never went to this farm; but wrote the entire book from the things that Almanzo told her.
We enjoy touring the farm home, walking to the Trout River, and visiting the town.  It is fun to compare the book to the actual buildings at the Town Square.
The barns were reconstructed using Almanzo's drawings.  It is interesting to tour the barns and hear about Almanzo's boyhood here.
Visiting Genesee Country Village, Mumford, New York
This is the third largest pioneer village in the United States.
We often see farm animals     -        experience pioneer crafts like the spinning wheel    -     and relax in this beautiful area.
